Jukin' It

Mr. Blog is back after a week off that should have been spent working. One metal rod kicked up on I-95 that was projected into your reporter's front bumper, impaling itself there (and with a different bounce would have smashed through his windshield killing him), made for a less than stellar vacation.

One thing...we get the occassional complaints about seating, that it's sometimes too cramped. At the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum, looking at the inside of a Gemini spaceship, and seeing how two astronauts in bulky spacesuits fit into that tiny tin can, all I can say is -- try being cramped in space for a couple of days in that vehicle, then complain about cramped seating.

We are rumbling through our pre-season, and viewing our audience reaction to Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, with a few notes to share and comments on our end:

Comment: “We love Southside Johnny. Would it be possible to allow people to stand at the foot of the stage?”
CT: The first two rows of the theatre are on “pit cover” and can only sustain so much weight, thus security is advised not to allow people to encroach on those rows, as it would create a safety issue.

Which leads us to…
Comment: “Your security crew was the most friendly and efficient I've ever seen. They did their jobs without being rude or controling. Made for the most pleasant experience at a concert. Kudos for the security guys!!”
CT: I’m sure the guys are thankful. Sometimes it’s not the nicest job to tell people to not to do certain things…

As to the Ticket Buying Experience
Comment: “These tickets went on sale when the theatre's whole season went on sale and the website was virtually unaccessible during the first hour-and-a-half of ticket sales. Once it did come back up it was sluggish and crashed several times before I could make a transaction. NOT a pleasant experience.”
CT: Our site crashed that morning due to the heavy volume. We are sorry about that and have looked into improving our service. Not that we are excusing ourselves, but we are not the first site that have experienced issues of not enough bandwidth and crashing.

Meanwhile, another comment brought us…
Comment: “Bought tickets on web site and had excellent experience.”
CT: Which leads to the conclusion…when you have 1000 people, you get 1000 different experiences, and we try to make everyone of those experiences special. We are human and sometimes we cannot live up to everyone’s expectations, but we give it the best effort we have.

Comment: “First time to facility for show, and back to Morristown in over 15 years. Great time will come again.”
CT: To which we say…where have you been?
