Perusing our patron comments from Blondie, here are the good and the bad, and some reaction on our end:
Comment: This is the best venue I have ever been in - much more personal than MSG or any of the larger ones. My boyfriend and I really loved it!
CT: Do you have a sister who is single?
Comment: I thought security was unnecessarily overzealous. My friends sitting elsewhere thought the same. Also, I bought my tickets months ago asking for best seats, and friends who just recently bought them had much better seats.
CT: In regard to security, we get complaints when security does too much and when it doesn’t do enough. Really, it’s a tough balance. The people who are sitting and not dancing want security to make sure nobody blocks their view. Those dancing feel the opposite. We cannot allow a lot of people to crowd close to the stage because the first two rows sit on a pit cover that can only support so much weight. As for tickets, sometimes seats that are held for sponsors or for the artist become available closer to the performance.
Comment: The only problem were the people standing and dancing in the aisles for most of the performance.
CT: Again, this goes to the issue of those who like to sit and those who like to dance. Both sides have a valid argument. We try to make those who like to dance move to the sides. But it’s also a rock show. People like to stand during rock shows and dance. It’s not a recital.
Comment: Blondie was great. However, I did not like the quality of the warm up band, who also had technical difficulty. There was no mention of a warm up band when I purchased tickets.
CT: Lots of complaints about the opening act; they were using their sound guy and their equipment. Not that we’re passing the buck here, but sometimes the sound folks that tour with the bands think they know it all. We can only advise them; they may not listen. As for notification that there was an opening act, lots of times opening acts aren’t booked until late. We did e-mail everyone who gave us their email address (see next comment) and had it on the home page of our website at least a week prior.
Comment: Great communications all around, from the ticket buying experience, updates via email, plus this survey. thank you!
CT: This person got the update about the opening act. It’s always good to check in on the concert the week of the show for updates.
Comment: Blondie rocks! LGBT event was a pleasant surprise...please have more!!!!
CT: We are glad you liked the LGBT event and will be working to increase communication with the gay community to schedule more events like that.
Comment: Golden Circle seats were fantastic. It's like being on stage with the performers.
CT: Golden Circle seats truly put you right there. That said, several people in that section did complain about sound. Placement of monitors for those sitting in that section has often caused issues with hearing vocals and we are exploring ways to improve that.
Thanks everyone for your comments!.
